Among other adventures this summer, I spent an intensive week near Jackson Hole, Wyoming learning Ashiatsu, taught by the wonderfully talented Brenda Blakesley of Southwest Ashiatsu. This fantastic modality is now fully integrated into my practice and in early fall 2015 I installed beautifully crafted custom bars in my studio.
Towards the summer’s end, I was fortunate to spend almost three weeks in the stunningly beautiful country of Scotland. It was a solo journey of about 100 miles of hiking followed by an 80 mile bike ride on tow paths, country roads, forest tracks and rugged up and down trails, then a combo of trains, buses and rental car to explore this diverse landscape steeped in history. An unforgettable experience. A few of the many photos from my journey I’ve shared here on Maire’s website.
So, as we wind our way into winter, entering a period of reflection, a vital turning inward and nourishing of the self, take time to check in with yourself. The changing of the seasons really does mark change for us all. Maybe that means starting things off with a massage or a program of bodywork to carry you gently and soundly through the winter to emerge bursting into spring. Whatever it means for you, I wish you the best.
